II. Early Life

Ty Jerome was born on August 20, 1997, in DeLand, Florida. He is the son of Ty Jerome Sr. and Michelle Jerome. He has two older sisters, Taylor and Taylor. Jerome attended DeLand High School, where he played basketball and baseball. He was a four-star recruit and committed to the University of Virginia to play basketball.

Ty Jerome attended DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. He was a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter for the Stags. As a senior, he averaged 19.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. He led DeMatha to the 2016 Maryland State Championship and was named the Maryland Gatorade Player of the Year. Jerome was also a McDonald’s All-American and a member of the USA Basketball U18 National Team.
